Adoption
There are several types of adoptions which can occur in Florida.
There are stepparent adoptions where a stepparent is seeking to adopt the minor child of his/her spouse to become the child’s legal parent as if he/she were the child’s birth parent.
There are infant adoptions or young child adoptions where a prospective parent is hoping to be matched to a birth parent or young child in order to create a family or add to his/her existing family.
There are also situations where an adult is adopted by another adult to formalize a parent-child relationship.
Adoptions can be paper-intensive and time consuming to properly formalize.
The Quattro Firm is here to assist you to grow your family or to formalize the family relationship you are seeking.
Bankruptcy
Bankruptcies proceed in federal court and there are several types in Florida from a Chapter 7, Chapter 11 or Chapter 13.
There are also important and crucial steps to follow before a person can file for bankruptcy and certain debts cannot be extinguished in a bankruptcy proceeding such as child support.
If considering bankruptcy, please call the Quattro Firm to determine your options.

Divorce
If a person no longer wants to be married to his/her spouse, it is often time to consider a divorce or a dissolution of marriage.
Divorces can be contested or uncontested.
An uncontested divorce is where both parties more or less agree on how the property and debts are to be divided and the type of parental responsibility and timesharing schedule with minor children.
A contested divorce is where there are no such agreements.
Often parties can agree on some things and not others (i.e. there’s an agreement on alimony, but not the amount of alimony or the length of time it should be paid).
A divorce can be a stressful, time-consuming and expensive process.
The Quattro Firm can be there for you with each step to advise hourly or advocate from start to finish.

Paternity
Clients are often confused as to what “paternity” means in the context of litigation.
When two parents are not married, a parent can file for paternity to establish his/her rights, child support and/or timesharing.
It may or may not require paternity testing.
Just because a parent is named on a birth certificate, does not entitle him/her to parental rights or timesharing.
To discuss your options, please contact the Quattro Firm.
Probate
If a person passes away without accounting for all of his/her assets in his/her estate plan, or passes away without an estate plan at all, a probate case could be filed in circuit court.
Often, a decedent can have a will or even a trust, but still require their estate to be probated if an asset is left out of his/her plan.
There are three types of probate in Florida, summary administration, formal administration and ancillary administration.
Summary administration is generally the simples form of probate for a small estate or for a larger estate where the decadent has passed away two or more years before.
Ancillary administration is where a decedent is a resident of another state where the probate matter has been filed, but there is an asset to be probated in the State of Florida.
Formal administration is generally for larger estates.
Contact the Quattro Firm to discuss your probate matter.
Time Sharing
Timesharing is the amount of time that the minor children spend time with each parent.
There are different schedules for timesharing in Florida depending on whether the parents have shared parental responsibility or sole parental responsibility.
Parental responsibility refers to which parent is making major decisions for the children.
There are several factors which come into play in determining timesharing and parental responsibility in Florida.
